    Today marks the launch of the Gold Standard.
    In addition to the obvious change of the name, the paper’s flag (the banner with the name of the publication) has been redesigned to utilize the branding fonts and colors approved by the Army and seen on signage throughout the installation.

    Last week, a dozen or so Soldiers assigned to Fort Knox’s Warrior Transition Battalion had the opportunity to try a new form of adaptive physical training.
    Jim Elliott, president and founder of a non-profit organization called Diveheart, came to Fort Knox to teach WTB Soldiers how to scuba dive. He supplied the equipment and the training; Gammon Physical Fitness Center provided the pool.

  • Knox develops fitness trails from training areas

    For those who enjoy a good walk—minus a ruck sack and combat boots—Fort Knox is actively developing a series of recreational hiking trails for health and fitness. The trails will be designed for multiple purposes.     
    In a master plan of several years, the garrison commander hopes to connect all Fort Knox communities and eventually provide access to Saunders Springs in Radcliff via these trails.

    I’ve been reading these blogs for a while now and I understand the frustration some may be going through. I came home from Vietnam with very bad post-traumatic stress disorder, have been in private treatment since 1969. I was an alcoholic till I had my first child in 1971. There was no veteran’s organization to treat me for years,I just lived with it and was tormented on a daily basis.
