  • Vet Clinic settling into new home

    The Fort Knox Veterinary Clinic officially received a new home Oct. 18 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The clinic is located at Bldg. 1006 on 192nd Tank Battalion Road, across from Cadet Command headquarters.
    “It’s a more friendly, more inviting facility,” said Dr. Detra Bryant.

    “What a great day to be a woman at Fort Knox, Ky.!” exclaimed Maj. Gen. Gina Farrisee, the commander of the Human Resource Command.
    Maj. Gen. Farrisee was the opening guest speaker at the two-day fourth annual Women’s Empowerment Conference Friday evening at the Leaders Club. The conference concluded Saturday afternoon.

    It wasn’t freezing Dec. 1; however there was enough of a chill in the evening air to create a line for free hot chocolate or hunt down the “Coffee Elves,” distributing free Starbucks coffee to those waiting for the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony to begin.

  • Soldiers build for Habitat for Humanity

    More than fifty officers and civilians from U.S. Army Human Resources Command’s Officer Personnel Management Directorate, Force Sustainment Division spent Friday morning helping build a home for Hardin County Habitat for Humanity.
    Distribution manager, Lori Huff of the Officer Acquisition Management Branch, who lives in Vine Grove, was in charge of finding an October team-building event.
