Last week, photos from the nearby Bernheim Research Forest and Arboretum were printed on this page. If the outdoors just isn’t your thing, or your children haven’t developed an appreciation for Mother Nature, perhaps a trip to Bernheim is still in order.
The fourth annual Scarecrow Jubilee is underway. Agencies, schools, and civic clubs from the Kentucky Heartland were invited to construct a scarecrow and given very little in the way of instruction. The resulting creatures bear little resemblance to the figures used to scare birds and other critters away from corn fields.
All the scarecrows are on display near the visitors center of Bernheim and votes can be cast until Nov. 30. There isn’t enough room here to show all the creations, so visit Bernheim and vote for your favorite.
